The sea has lots of problems today. The main problems include: pollution of water, the bottom and the beaches of the Sea, reduction of species’ variety. The only way out of this situation is reasonable consumption of the Baltic region resources and major changes in the industry and agriculture of the surrounding countries. The basic source of problems is industrial and household garbage which is discharged into the Sea. That is why reduction of garbage would improve the general ecological situation in the Baltic region.
