The UBC Commission on Environment (UBC EnvCom) is one of the 13 commissions of the Union of the Baltic Cities (UBC). UBC is a voluntary, proactive network of cities mobilizing the shared potential of over 100 member cities for democratic, economic, social, cultural and environmentally sustainable development of the Baltic Sea Region. UBC consists of member cities from the 10 Baltic Sea Region countries (Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland).
The UBC Commission on Environment is responsible for the Union’s work on environmental and urban sustainability topics and functions as the co-ordination secretariat of the entire UBC Sustainability Action Programme. The UBC Commission on Environment is located in Turku, Finland.
UBC EnvCom Secretariat in Turku is working with activities like project coordination, surveys, communication and arrangements of events, just to mention some. All these actions are aimed to support our UBC member cities. Today we have a multi-national team of approximately 16 persons working in the UBC EnvCom secretariat.
We are looking for experienced and skillful persons ready to work in an international surrounding. Our working language is English. If you have skills and experience in project coordination (including financing), expertise in climate change related issues like energy and transport and experience of work with local authorities, we hope you have an interest to approach us and discuss possible work opportunities.
We are also looking for person/persons who have interest and skills in different ways of communication (e-communication and layouting for print and web).
