The Union of Baltic Cities' Commission on Environment is delighted to announce the next joint commission meeting. This will take place in Gdynia, Poland 17-18 October 2012 arranged jointly with the Commission on Energy and Commission on Transport.
Based on the positive response and outputs of the previous joint commission meeting in Halmstad in early May 2012, it has shown fruitful to combine the commissions’ perspectives create a more encompassing debate on sustainable urban development.
The seminar will be held in the Pomeranian Science and Technology Park in Gdynia. The theme for the seminar will be “Sustainable regional development, including transport, energy and environment”. Gdynia’s location close to Gdansk and Sopot provides great opportunities to develop the region further and make use of the potential within the triangle city. UBC members are invited to share their experiences from the Baltic Sea Region and also to take the opportunity to bring back
Interesting and innovative cases of sustainable mobility, energy solutions, management systems and attractive cities will be presented and discussed. There is still room for other interesting presentations, so please contact us with proposals!
The joint commission meeting will be arranged in relation to the PURE project conference and it is also intended to include NETCOM support session related to Covenant of Mayors activities.
We are looking forward for inspiration and networking in Gdynia 17-18 October!
